One of the best beings about being a caterer is that we get to be a part of community. Event dining is inherently communal. Dining together is one of the simplest acts of community and also one of the best. Anytime we at Hog Roast Winchester receive a call about an event we know that in some way we will be helping to shape or impact a community of some sort. Be it a family, a workplace, a community of friends, a sports team, or even actual small-knit communities within towns and villages.
It is easily one of our favourite parts of the job, and anytime we are able to get involved with something that gives back to community we take it as a great privilege. So, then, when we were contacted by Rebecca and Andy in Littleton about an event to celebrate the NHS workers here in Winchester we did not hesitate in saying yes.
The NHS has been the backbone of the UK for decades, seeing us all through one of the most difficult periods of this century only a few years ago. To come up to Littleton Millenium Memorial Hall to cook for so many of these hard workers is precisely what we came into this business to do. An evening where the hard work could sit by the wayside for the moment for these workers and celebration, community, and good foods could take precedent!
And nothing says good communal eating like our signature hog roast. The Hog Roast Winchester hog roast is a must for any event; its stylish cooking method is what communal dining is all about, inviting in everyone to share in its brilliant and fiery spectacle as it cooks throughout the day in the traditional spit style. Our NHS workers more than deserved their many portions of roasted pork, crackling, sage and onion stuffing, with grilled veg and halloumi skewers, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed leaves, and regular and sweet potato fries.
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Our thanks go to Andy and Rebecca for organising and thinking of Hog Roast Winchester for this incredible event!
