On 22 July, the team at Hog Roast Portsmouth had the honour of supporting a truly inspiring cause at the Air Ambulance fundraising event, hosted at Pure, Portsmouth, Port Solent. With 170 guests in attendance, it was a brilliant afternoon of community spirit, gratitude, and unforgettable food, all in support of the lifesaving work of the Air Ambulance.
From the moment we arrived at Building A, the energy was buzzing. Fundraisers, supporters, and guests from across the area gathered to show their appreciation for the incredible efforts of the Air Ambulance crew. It was clear this wasn’t just another workday lunch. This was a celebration of heroes.
Catering Manager Jack and the Hog Roast Portsmouth team came fully prepared with one of our most requested menus. At the heart of it all was a beautifully cooked whole roasted pig, with golden crackling that had mouths watering across the site. Served up with our signature apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing, and a spread of bread rolls and wraps (with gluten free options included), the setup had something for everyone.
For our plant based guests, we served our much loved vegan pulled jackfruit. Slow cooked in hickory BBQ sauce and finished with a crunchy slaw, all packed into a soft bun. It’s hearty, satisfying, and just as flavourful as the classic hog roast.
The entire service was kept efficient and eco conscious, with food served onto disposable plates and accompanied by quality napkins, perfect for a casual outdoor vibe and easy cleanup for the organisers.
It was a privilege to cater for such a large group coming together for a vital cause. We saw laughter, heartfelt conversations, and plenty of second helpings, which is always a good sign.
To everyone at Pure, Portsmouth and the Air Ambulance team, thank you for letting us be part of this fantastic event. Hog Roast Portsmouth was proud to fuel the fun and support a service that means so much to so many.
